What is SLU-PP-332?
Estrogen-related receptors α, β and γ are nuclear receptors that, despite their name, are not activated by estrogen. They are “orphan” receptors involved in regulating genes for mitochondrial function and energy metabolism. The compound was developed at Saint Louis University as an agonist of these receptors, with its strongest activity reported at ERRα.
It is a small molecule, not a peptide.

Mouse studies have examined the ERR agonist in relation to skeletal-muscle gene expression, mitochondrial function and exercise-like metabolic changes. These are preclinical results and are the main reason the compound is used as a tool in energy-metabolism research.
It is combined with the mitochondrial uncoupler BAM15 in SLUBAM capsules.
