What is MGF (mechano growth factor)?
The IGF-1 gene produces several splice variants. In humans, the IGF-1Ec variant includes a distinct C-terminal E-peptide that has been named mechano growth factor because its expression rises in muscle after mechanical loading. Research peptides are synthetic versions of that E-domain region.
Synthetic E-domain peptides are short-lived in biological fluids, which is why a pegylated form (PEG-MGF) also appears in the literature.

MGF 5MG in published research
Studies have examined E-domain peptides in muscle satellite-cell cultures and in animal models of muscle and cardiac tissue response to load or injury. Results vary between peptide versions, so check which sequence a cited study used.

Preparation, handling and storage
MGF 5MG is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. Dilute acetic acid is a common diluent for this peptide. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
