Description
IGF-LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is a recombinant analogue of insulin-like growth factor-1. We supply IGF-LR3 1MG as a freeze-dried powder in a sealed vial, mainly for cell-culture research.
What is IGF-LR3?
The analogue has 83 amino acids: the 70-residue IGF-1 sequence with arginine in place of glutamic acid at position 3, plus a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension. These changes greatly reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins, so more of the molecule stays free to act at the IGF-1 receptor.
It is widely used as a serum-free medium supplement in cell culture and bioprocessing.

IGF-1 LR3 1MG in published research
Research use centres on IGF-1 receptor signalling and on supporting cell proliferation in culture. Because it is less bound by IGF-binding proteins than native IGF-1, it is reported to be more potent in many in-vitro systems.
We recommend 0.6% acetic acid as the diluent for this peptide. A related growth-factor peptide is MGF.
Preparation, handling and storage
IGF-LR3 1MG is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. Dilute acetic acid is the recommended diluent for this growth factor. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Ordering from Alpha & Omega Peptide
Every listing on our site shows the compound, strength, format and product reference (SKU), so it is simple to match what arrives with your lab records. We describe each item factually, without claims about effects or outcomes, and we answer product questions by email rather than offering usage advice. You can add reconstitution and handling supplies such as bacteriostatic water, acetic acid solution, PBS and mixing syringes to the same order from our lab supplies range. Frequently asked questions
How should IGF-LR3 1MG be stored?
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. Once reconstituted, keep the vial refrigerated and, for longer storage, follow the frozen-storage note on the label. Record the product reference and the date opened in your lab notes so results can be traced back to the material used.
Is IGF-LR3 1MG for human or animal use?
No. It is supplied for laboratory and in-vitro research only and must not be administered to people or animals. We do not give dosing, administration or medical advice.
