Description

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidised form) is a coenzyme found in every living cell. We supply it as a powder in 500MG or 1000MG vials for cell-biology and metabolic research.

What is NAD+?

NAD+ is a dinucleotide made of two nucleotides joined through their phosphate groups, one containing adenine and the other nicotinamide. It cycles between its oxidised form, NAD+, and its reduced form, NADH, carrying electrons in redox reactions such as glycolysis and the citric acid cycle.

It is also consumed as a substrate by enzymes such as sirtuins and PARPs, which is why cellular levels are a frequent research topic.

NAD+ in published research

The coenzyme is a standard reagent in enzyme assays and a research subject in its own right, particularly in studies of how cellular levels change with age, metabolic stress and the activity of NAD-consuming enzymes. Research also covers precursors and the salvage pathway that recycles nicotinamide.

A buffered 500MG form is listed separately as NAD+ (Buffered), and NNMT inhibition is studied with 5-Amino-1MQ.

Preparation, handling and storage

NAD+ is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.

Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. For longer storage, keep the product frozen, as printed on the label. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Ordering from Alpha & Omega Peptide

Every listing on our site shows the compound, strength, format and product reference (SKU), so it is simple to match what arrives with your lab records. We describe each item factually, without claims about effects or outcomes, and we answer product questions by email rather than offering usage advice. You can add reconstitution and handling supplies such as bacteriostatic water, acetic acid solution, PBS and mixing syringes to the same order from our lab supplies range. Frequently asked questions

What strengths of NAD+ are available?

It is available as 500MG or 1000MG vials. Select the option you need above the add-to-cart button; the price updates to match.

How should NAD+ be stored?

Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. Once reconstituted, keep the vial refrigerated and, for longer storage, follow the frozen-storage note on the label. Record the product reference and the date opened in your lab notes so results can be traced back to the material used.

Is NAD+ for human or animal use?

No. It is supplied for laboratory and in-vitro research only and must not be administered to people or animals. We do not give dosing, administration or medical advice.
