Description

NAD+ Buffered is our 500MG nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide formulation with a buffering agent, supplied as a powder in a sealed vial.

What is NAD+ Buffered?

NAD+ is the oxidised form of the coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, which carries electrons in cellular redox reactions and is a substrate for sirtuins and PARPs. Solutions of NAD+ are acidic, so a buffered formulation is intended to give a solution closer to neutral pH once dissolved.

That can simplify preparation where pH control matters to an assay.

Research context

The coenzyme is used in enzyme assays and redox studies, and as a research subject in work on cellular energy metabolism and NAD-consuming enzymes. For NAD+ Buffered, check the pH of the prepared solution and record it with your results, particularly if you compare buffered and unbuffered material.

The unbuffered form is available as NAD+ 500MG and 1000MG.

Preparation, handling and storage

NAD+ Buffered is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.

Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. For longer storage, keep the product frozen, as printed on the label. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Ordering from Alpha & Omega Peptide

Every listing on our site shows the compound, strength, format and product reference (SKU), so it is simple to match what arrives with your lab records. We describe each item factually, without claims about effects or outcomes, and we answer product questions by email rather than offering usage advice. You can add reconstitution and handling supplies such as bacteriostatic water, acetic acid solution, PBS and mixing syringes to the same order from our lab supplies range. Frequently asked questions

How should NAD+ Buffered be stored?

Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. Once reconstituted, keep the vial refrigerated and, for longer storage, follow the frozen-storage note on the label. Record the product reference and the date opened in your lab notes so results can be traced back to the material used.

Is NAD+ Buffered for human or animal use?

No. It is supplied for laboratory and in-vitro research only and must not be administered to people or animals. We do not give dosing, administration or medical advice.
