Description
This listing is a single MOTS-c 10 mg vial of white freeze-dried powder. A lot number is printed on every container, so the material can be traced back to its batch in your records.
What is MOTS-c?
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide, a short sequence encoded in the 12S rRNA region of mitochondrial DNA. It has 16 amino acids: Met-Arg-Trp-Gln-Glu-Met-Gly-Tyr-Ile-Phe-Tyr-Pro-Arg-Lys-Leu-Arg (MRWQEMGYIFYPRKLR).
The same peptide is also available in our MOTS-C listing with a choice of 10MG or 40MG vials.

Research context
Cell and mouse studies have looked at the peptide in relation to AMPK activation, skeletal-muscle glucose handling and adaptation to metabolic stress. These are preclinical findings in defined models.
A single 10 mg vial suits pilot experiments or a study that needs one batch; for larger runs use the 40MG size of our MOTS-C vials.
Preparation, handling and storage
MOTS-c 10 mg is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. Keep sealed and frozen at -20 °C, away from light and moisture, as stated on the container. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
