Description
The Semax/Selank Blend combines two synthetic heptapeptides in equal amounts in one freeze-dried vial. It is available as 5MG/5MG or 10MG/10MG.
What is in the blend?
Semax (MEHFPGP) is an analogue of the ACTH(4-7) fragment with a Pro-Gly-Pro extension. Selank (TKPRPGP) is an analogue of the immunoglobulin-derived tetrapeptide tuftsin with the same extension. Both were developed in Russia and share a design approach intended to slow enzymatic breakdown.
A combined vial gives a fixed 1:1 ratio for studies that examine the two neuropeptides together.

Research context
Each peptide has a separate literature: neurotrophin-related work for the ACTH fragment and anxiety-model and GABAergic-signalling work for the tuftsin analogue. The pairing is used when a model is designed to examine both at once, with single-peptide controls run alongside.
The same pairing is also offered as Melts Pro™ dissolving strips.
Preparation, handling and storage
Semax/Selank Blend is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. For longer storage, keep the product frozen, as printed on the label. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
