Description
P21 (also written P021) is a synthetic peptide derived from ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF). We supply P21 10MG as a freeze-dried powder in a sealed vial for neuroscience research.
What is P21?
The compound was developed from a biologically active region of CNTF and modified with an adamantylated glycine to improve stability, giving a small peptidergic molecule that can be studied in place of the full neurotrophic protein.
Much of the published work comes from the group at the New York State Institute for Basic Research that developed the compound.

P21 10MG in published research
Mouse and rat studies have examined it in models of neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus, synaptic plasticity and neurodegeneration. These are animal-model findings and should be evaluated through the primary publications.
Other neuropeptide research compounds include PE-22-28 and Semax.
Because the compound is a modified fragment rather than full-length CNTF, results should be compared with the specific analogue and batch used in each cited study.
Preparation, handling and storage
P21 10MG is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. For longer storage, keep the product frozen, as printed on the label. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Ordering from Alpha & Omega Peptide
Every listing on our site shows the compound, strength, format and product reference (SKU), so it is simple to match what arrives with your lab records. We describe each item factually, without claims about effects or outcomes, and we answer product questions by email rather than offering usage advice. You can add reconstitution and handling supplies such as bacteriostatic water, acetic acid solution, PBS and mixing syringes to the same order from our lab supplies range. Frequently asked questions
How should P21 10MG be stored?
Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. Once reconstituted, keep the vial refrigerated and, for longer storage, follow the frozen-storage note on the label. Record the product reference and the date opened in your lab notes so results can be traced back to the material used.
Is P21 10MG for human or animal use?
No. It is supplied for laboratory and in-vitro research only and must not be administered to people or animals. We do not give dosing, administration or medical advice.
