Description

KPV is the tripeptide lysine-proline-valine, the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). We supply KPV 10MG as a freeze-dried powder in a sealed vial.

What is KPV?

α-MSH is a 13-amino-acid peptide derived from pro-opiomelanocortin. Its final three residues, Lys-Pro-Val, form the fragment, which is of interest because it is far smaller than the parent hormone and is described in the literature as lacking α-MSH’s pigmentary activity.

Its small size makes it a convenient model compound for peptide transport and stability work.

KPV 10MG in published research

Preclinical studies have examined the tripeptide in cell and animal models of inflammatory signalling, including intestinal epithelial models and work on peptide transporters such as PepT1. These are laboratory observations in defined systems.

The same tripeptide also appears in three of our multi-peptide vials: a copper peptide pairing, the four-peptide KLOW Blend and a mitochondrial-peptide triple blend.

Preparation, handling and storage

KPV 10MG is shipped as a freeze-dried (lyophilised) solid. Lyophilisation removes water at low temperature and pressure, which generally makes a peptide more stable in transit and storage than a solution. Before use, the powder is reconstituted with a diluent chosen by your protocol. Common laboratory options include bacteriostatic water, sterile water, dilute acetic acid or a buffered saline such as PBS. Add the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking, which can cause foaming.

Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate the vial and mark it with the date and concentration. For longer storage, keep the product frozen, as printed on the label. Where your protocol allows, divide material into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Ordering from Alpha & Omega Peptide

Every listing on our site shows the compound, strength, format and product reference (SKU), so it is simple to match what arrives with your lab records. We describe each item factually, without claims about effects or outcomes, and we answer product questions by email rather than offering usage advice. You can add reconstitution and handling supplies such as bacteriostatic water, acetic acid solution, PBS and mixing syringes to the same order from our lab supplies range. Frequently asked questions

How should KPV 10MG be stored?

Keep unopened vials sealed, cold, dry and away from light. Once reconstituted, keep the vial refrigerated and, for longer storage, follow the frozen-storage note on the label. Record the product reference and the date opened in your lab notes so results can be traced back to the material used.

Is KPV 10MG for human or animal use?

No. It is supplied for laboratory and in-vitro research only and must not be administered to people or animals. We do not give dosing, administration or medical advice.
